A simple and efficient pricing formula that will streamline the electricity production process, maximise the realisation of savings while enabling fossil fuel burning customer facilities to benefit from lower taxation and carbon credit revenues.

Fossil fuel burning customer facilities using HERO®
The capital-intensive process of generating heat used by factories will be covered by HERO®, enabling the realisation of savings at multiple levels:
(i) Raw material and import price;
(ii) Installation and machinery cost;
(iii) Maintenance and staffing expenses;
(iv) Reduced taxation;
(v) Carbon credit revenues possibly split up to 10% between HERO® and external entities

HERO® will provide the aforementioned services in exchange for the cost spent by fossil fuel burning customer facilities on their purchase of raw material (i.e. not producing cost) plus a 15% premium. The additional premium paid by the fossil fuel burning customer facility will be more than offsetted by the savings realised on the other production costs (ie. Capex, maintenance, carbon) that are now covered by HERO®.

Production capacity and utilisation rate

In the second half of 2024 Star became aware of a breakthrough in a coating process known as ‘sputtering’. This advanced process enables the uniform and highly controlled distribution of an ultra-thin layer of the HERO® catalyst material. ‘Sputtering’ brings a massive efficiency and accuracy gain to coating, much like 3D Printing has been a huge advance for industrial massmanufacture processes.

► This breakthrough process can reduce catalyst material usage by up to 75%, and it is also a highly sustainable process requiring a lot less space than the previous coating method that was being used. The advantages that the ‘sputtering’ process brings will lead to a notable boost in manufacturing productivity. Specifically, total production capacity will rise from 250 to 375 across the Company’s three mass manufacturing facilities located in Australia, United States, and Europe.

► This development drives a significant increase in utilisation rates, projected to grow from 3% in 2026 to 54% by 2034. This growth is tied to the following milestones: (i) Australia Mass manufacturing facility operational from 2027; (ii) United States Mass manufacturing facility operational from 2028 (iii) Europe Mass manufacturing facility operational from 2029 and; (iv) a forecasted annual average increase of 1,400 additional installations.

► Compared to the previous IM released in June 2024, this evolution in the utilisation rate (72% vs 54% FY34E in IM June 2024 and IM January 2025 respectively) allows the Company to optimise its remaining capacity for essential maintenance and operational needs, while maintaining the flexibility required to handle potential demand surges.

Europe is the most advanced continent in terms of disincentive mechanisms regarding polluting industries: a main prospect for HERO® technology is to convert high polluting coal or gas plants into zero-emissions-production plants.
